Hogwarts Legacy: $10 Switch 2 Upgrade Boosts Graphics

The Nintendo Switch 2 release of Hogwarts Legacy features enhanced visuals, quicker load times, and also introduces all-new mouse controls.

As shown in a new comparison teaser, the original game required loading screens when entering or leaving Hogsmeade. The Switch 2 version, however, allows seamless transitions between these areas.

The improvements don't stop there. Playing on the Nintendo Switch 2 also increases the frame rate, enhances textures and shadows, and boosts the color saturation of Hogwarts and its surroundings. You can see all these upgrades in the trailer below:

Regarding mouse controls, we're just as curious. While developer Warner Bros. Games hasn't shared details yet, we suspect the new mouse functionality might be used for spell-casting.

Similar to other Switch 1 titles, owners of Hogwarts Legacy on the original console can upgrade to this new, improved version for a $10 fee.

Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the wizarding world of the 1800s. Starting as a fifth-year student, you'll journey through new and familiar locations, discover magical creatures, brew potions, master spellcasting, upgrade talents, and customize your character to become the witch or wizard you choose to be. It launches for the Nintendo Switch 2 on the console's release date, June 5.
