Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: How To Get Effects Of Two Outfits Simultaneously

Mastering the Two-Outfit Trick in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, while focused on action, offers significant weapon and outfit customization. This guide details how to combine the effects of multiple outfits, a powerful technique with some limitations.

Remastered Version Required

The ability to leverage two outfits simultaneously is exclusive to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. A recent patch introduced transmog, enabling you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while visually wearing another.

Outfit Requirements

This technique isn't universal. While your primary outfit can be any you own, the secondary (for visual appearance only) must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits from the Frozen Wilds DLC:

  • Banuk Werak Runner
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game+ only)

Note: Access to these outfits requires reaching the Frozen Wilds area, but completing the main game isn't necessary.

Obtaining Banuk Werak Outfits

Banuk Werak Runner

Defeat the new machine to access the Frozen Wilds expansion. Then, locate a Bluegleam Merchant (blue merchant icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit. Costs are:

Resource Normal Cost Ultra Hard Cost
Metal Shards 1000 5000
Desert Glass 10 20
Slagshine Glass 10 20

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Chieftain Adept

The superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit is obtained by completing the "For the Werak" quest (third main quest in Frozen Wilds). Consider lowering the difficulty if needed. The Adept version is acquired the same way, but only in New Game+.

Combining Outfit Effects

Here's how to combine the benefits:

  1. Equip your desired outfit—the one providing the stats you want (enhance stats with Weaves if necessary).
  2. Use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits.

This allows you to retain your outfit's stats while gaining the auto-healing effect of the Banuk Werak outfit. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer significantly faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with an outfit like the Shield Weaver makes you nearly invincible.
