The application for Honkai Nexus Anima initially appeared on the Korea Intellectual Property Information Search’s (KIPRIS) website, though it was later removed. However, the trademark filing remains accessible on the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) website.

The Honkai series began with Honkai Impact 3rd, a free-to-play mobile action RPG considered the spiritual successor to Houkai Gakuen 2, a classic 2D side-scrolling shooter. Subsequently, Honkai Star Rail was released in 2023, offering turn-based gameplay in a free-to-play mobile format.

Although both games share thematic elements related to space and occasionally feature similar characters, they are set in distinct universes with unique narratives. HoYoverse likely created these accounts to secure social media usernames, ensuring consistent branding across platforms and regions.

Earlier this year, miHoYo posted job listings hinting at new projects. According to GosuGamers, citing @chibi0108 on Twitter, the company is developing an "auto-chess" game featuring "Destined Spirits" in battles. Although direct access to the original job listings is unavailable, and these remain speculative, fans have connected Honkai Nexus Anima to this potential auto-chess game.

Despite no official confirmation or announcements from HoYoverse, the gaming community eagerly anticipates what could be another hit from miHoYo, given their successful track record with Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, and other titles.
