Join Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 PTS: A Guide
Since its launch in September 2024, *Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2* has continued to evolve, especially in its online multiplayer modes. If you're eager to experience the latest updates and new content firsthand, here's how you can join the *Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2* public test server.
How to Join the Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Public Test Server
It's important to note that while *Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2* is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the public test server is exclusively accessible to PC players. PC gamers can easily access this server through Steam without any complicated procedures.
To join, simply navigate to your Steam library, find *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2*, and you should see the public test server listed just below the main game as a separate entry. This option will only be available if you've already purchased *Space Marine 2* on Steam. Once you locate the public test server, download and install it; it operates as a standalone application, separate from the main game.
What Is Included with the Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Public Test Server
The *Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2* public test server offers a range of new content for both PvE and PvP modes, including new weapons and expanded customization options. The majority of the updates are focused on PvE, featuring a new map, relaxed class restrictions on weapons, and modifications to online gameplay features. Keep in mind that the content, especially the PvE additions, is still under development and may undergo significant changes before the official release.
The public test server also includes enhanced matchmaking for both PvE and PvP modes, with improved team balancing. The PvE matchmaking system aims to minimize the likelihood of players selecting the same class ending up on the same team and introduces a prestige leveling system. Meanwhile, the PvP mode offers more customization options in the lobby to enrich the online multiplayer experience.
If you have mods installed for *Space Marine 2*, be aware that they won't work in the public test server environment. Additionally, any content you create or customize in the test server will not carry over to the main game, as the test server is a separate build. There's no official confirmation on whether progress or content from the test server will be transferable to the main game, but it's generally not expected.
