King of Fighters ALLSTAR: Closure Announced by Netmarble

Netmarble's popular fighting game, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is closing its doors this October. The announcement, made recently on Netmarble's official forums, came as a surprise to many fans.

The game's servers will officially shut down on October 30th, 2024. Even if you're eager to spend your in-game currency, it's too late—the in-app store closed on June 26th, 2024.

Why the Shutdown?

King of Fighters ALLSTAR enjoyed a successful run of over six years, featuring numerous high-profile crossovers from other fighting games and building upon the legacy of SNK's King of Fighters franchise. Despite generally positive player reviews praising its animations and PvP battles, the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt as a contributing factor to the shutdown. However, this is likely only part of the story.

The game did experience some challenges, including optimization issues and occasional crashes, which understandably frustrated some players. Nevertheless, it achieved millions of downloads across Google Play and the App Store.

You still have approximately four months to experience King of Fighters ALLSTAR before the servers go offline. Download it from the Google Play Store and enjoy its legendary battles.
