Kingambit Joins Pokémon Go in Crown Clash Event Next Month

by Joseph May 25,2025

As you immerse yourself in the excitement of the Sweet Discoveries event, Pokémon Go is already preparing for the regal Crown Clash event, set to unfold from May 10th to 18th. This event promises a royal affair, giving you the chance to evolve the formidable Kingambit, adorn your Pokémon with crowns, and collect a bounty of rewards, including bonus XP for every evolution.

Kingambit, the Big Blade Pokémon, will make its grand debut during the Crown Clash event. To add this powerful Pokémon to your roster, you'll need to evolve Bisharp. But here’s the catch: Bisharp must be set as your buddy, and you must defeat 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokémon in Raid Battles. Bisharp doesn’t need to fight; simply bring it along to claim those victories.

Adding to the festivities, two new costumed Pokémon, Nidoqueen and Nidoking, will grace the event wearing stunning crowns. You might even encounter their Shiny variants if luck is on your side. These royal Pokémon will be spotlighted in three-star raids, while one-star raids will feature Sneasel, Klink, and Pawniard.

The wild areas will be bustling with activity, too. Keep your eyes peeled for frequent spawns like Slowpoke (which could lead you to a King’s Rock), Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, and Litleo. Pawniard will also appear more often, offering more chances to catch this elusive Pokémon.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to redeem Pokémon Go codes for additional benefits before diving into the event!

With double XP available for evolving Pokémon, it’s the perfect time to tackle your evolution backlog. Engage in event-themed Field Research tasks and participate in the catch-and-evolve Collection Challenge to earn extra XP, Stardust, and another opportunity to encounter Pawniard. Trainers at Level 31 and above will receive guaranteed Candy XL for evolutions upon completing the challenge.

Make sure to visit PokéStops, where event-themed Showcases will allow you to display your crown-worthy catches. To prepare for the event, check out the special deals available on the Pokémon Go Web Store.
