Rumors of KCD2 incorporating DRM are completely unfounded.

In a recent Twitch stream, Warhorse Studios PR head, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, explicitly stated: "KCD 2 will not have Denuvo, or any DRM system at all. We never confirmed otherwise. There's been some miscommunication, but the final decision is DRM-free." He urged fans to cease inquiries regarding DRM, emphasizing that any unconfirmed information circulating online is inaccurate.

The gaming community often expresses concerns about DRM's potential impact on game performance, particularly regarding Denuvo, which is also used as anti-piracy software. While Denuvo's product manager, Andreas Ullmann, attributes the negative perception to misinformation and confirmation bias, the strong negative reaction remains a significant factor.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set for release in February 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game continues the story of Henry, a blacksmith-in-training, in Medieval Bohemia, following a devastating event in his village. Kickstarter backers who pledged at least $200 will receive a free copy.
