Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide
Your journey begins in the heart of town, across from the Gun Store and Hospital and in front of the Trading Hut. Start by shedding any excess loot and arming yourself. In my opinion, a Rifle is a solid choice here. It's only $75 and packs enough punch to fend off most foes, at least temporarily. Don't forget to stock up on coal to fuel your boat; it's powered by an old-school engine, after all.

The next town is 10,000m away, so fire up the engine and set sail. You might be tempted to stop and loot Zombies and Drowned, but I'd advise against it. The houses on the sides don't hold much value. To keep the ship running, just add more coal and restart. Don't let the worm on the right side scare you. Wait until the second safe zone to sell your loot, but stay alert for Big Foot and Zombie mobs on both sides of the river.

After reaching the second safe zone/town, you'll encounter burning buildings teeming with mobs. Clear them out if you're with friends, but solo players might find it a waste of time due to the scattered spawn points. At around 12,000m, you'll find a castle-like house filled with Drowned, but also valuable loot like Shotgun ammo. Use it wisely.

Dead Sails Kraken Tips and Tricks
By now, you're familiar with the routine—kill, loot, repeat, and hope the enemy falls. This is the core gameplay loop. To master it, focus on efficiency by using the boat as your main inventory. Clear out your bag whenever you're back on board to save time and space.

Another crucial tip from my Dead Sails Kraken guide is stacking Zombies near the incinerator. While it's tempting to flee those backwater towns quickly, efficient loot stacking can make a big difference. Running low on fuel? Just toss a few Zombies into the incinerator and you're set.

Also, keep an eye on what's happening in Sheriff's offices. You'll often find a high concentration of mobs here, but the rewards in terms of weapons and ammo are worth it. I managed to keep my shotgun loaded for a long time by having a friend clear the ground floor while we explored each town.

Don't squander your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits before reaching the fortress at 25,000m. It's still under construction, making it an easy ambush spot for mobs. I recommend bringing at least three friends, with a five-player team being ideal. Be efficient when collecting loot.

Likewise, avoid engaging Big Feet after 30,000m. They're incredibly tough and require a lot of ammo to defeat safely. Don't linger too long at stops; loot isn't everything, no matter how much it might seem so.
The town after 50,000m is one of my favorite farming spots. With at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies, it's perfect if you and your friends are armed with Shotguns or a Sawnoff. It's also an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel, so coordinate with your team to load up quickly.
How to Defeat the Kraken Boss in Dead Sails Kraken
In the final safe zone, sell all your loot and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on the Zombies and Drowned. Keep a stash of at least 8-10 corpses for fuel during this final stretch of the Dead Sails Kraken guide. You're almost at your goal. At around 100,000m, you'll reach open waters and be ready to face the beast. The sign of its approach is the skies darkening.

As the Kraken emerges from the water, EVERYONE MUST PICK a tentacle. The boss has a lot of health, and each tentacle will attack if not repelled properly. With five players on board, form a pentagram-like shape and focus on your individual tentacle.

Watch out for the water splash ability. It deals AoE damage to multiple players and is telegraphed by the Kraken winding back and creating a water trail with the tentacle. Use medkits liberally, as some damage is unavoidable.

Finally, be cautious of the Roar AoE. It causes minor damage that's unblockable and seems to give the boss a slight damage buff. You'll recognize it by the white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle that used the ability.

As you can see, it's less daunting than it sounds. That concludes my Dead Sails Kraken Guide. To speed up your progress even more, use one of our Dead Sails codes. Good luck, and may your sails be ever smooth!
