Leaked Images Hint at Nintendo Switch 2 Design

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Controllers Leaked: A Closer Look

Recent online leaks suggest we're getting a clearer picture of the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con controllers. While the Switch continues its strong performance with games slated for 2025, whispers of its successor are growing louder. Nintendo has confirmed an announcement before the end of its 2024 fiscal year, fueling speculation and leaks surrounding the Switch 2.

With a rumored March 2025 launch, details about the Switch 2's specs and features are steadily emerging. Numerous hardware rumors, often sourced from third-party developers and insiders, have circulated, including images purportedly depicting the console itself. Information regarding the Joy-Cons' continued use and color schemes has also surfaced. New images, recently shared on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit, appear to confirm the Joy-Con's design.

Posted by user SwordfishAgile3472, allegedly sourced from a Chinese social media platform, these photos offer the clearest view yet of the controllers. They showcase the back and side of a left Joy-Con, subsequently making the rounds on other social media sites. The images seemingly confirm the rumored magnetic connection, replacing the traditional rail system with a magnetic attachment.

Decoding the Joy-Con Leak

The leaked images reveal a predominantly black Joy-Con with blue accents, similar to the original Switch's color scheme, but with a different distribution of color. The blue is more prominently featured on the connecting rail, a detail only visible from the side and back views provided. The images also offer a glimpse of the button layout, highlighting notably larger "SL" and "SR" buttons, plus an additional, unlabeled button on the back.

This third button is hypothesized to be a release mechanism for the magnetic Joy-Con connection. The leaked Joy-Con design aligns with other recent leaks depicting the console and various Switch 2 mockups. However, until Nintendo provides official confirmation, the details remain speculative.
