LEGO Unveils 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set
LEGO has just unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: a colossal T-rex skeleton that spans over three feet in length. This impressive set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film where the skeleton is prominently featured in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available starting March 12 at the LEGO Store for LEGO Insiders, and on March 15 for everyone else. You can sign up for free to become a LEGO Insider here.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
Comprising 3,145 pieces, this set is tailored for the 18+ age group, designed more for display than for play. It might incorporate advanced building techniques that could challenge younger builders. Photos may not fully convey the scale of this set, but the included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler provide some perspective. When fully assembled, the skeleton measures over three feet long. The skull bears a striking resemblance to the current LEGO T-rex skull set, which I can personally vouch for as my son built it and it looks fantastic. However, the addition of the full skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of this new set.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: T-Rex Skeleton
The T-rex skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. The head can move, the jaw can open, and the arms and tail can be adjusted. As with many LEGO sets inspired by movies, this one includes hidden Easter eggs to discover during the building process. It also comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While LEGO's Jurassic World collection may not be as extensive as its LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter lines, it is rapidly expanding. Personally, I'm excited to see more adult-oriented LEGO sets like this T-rex skeleton included in future releases.
