Longvinter, the PC's Answer to Animal Crossing, Leaves Early Access on Steam

Longvinter, after a three-year journey through early access on Steam, has officially launched version 1.0! This release marks a significant milestone, incorporating extensive player feedback and bug fixes to deliver a revitalized experience for both veterans and newcomers.

This major update introduces oil rigs scattered across the archipelago. Players can now extract oil, refine it into fuel, and engage in intense battles against LRI mercenaries controlling vital supply lines. Adding to the dynamic gameplay, new events like helicopter crashes—yielding valuable tactical gear—and an hourly underground arena offering lucrative rewards, have been implemented.

The game world is richer than ever, boasting new wildlife including lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and even goats, all tamable as mounts! A plethora of new items are available, ranging from buff-granting hats and combat vests to an array of weapons, explosives, and kitchen recipes. Interactive building and decorating objects like oil refineries, refrigerators, microwaves, power poles, and turrets further enhance the player experience. Weapon balance has also received significant adjustments.

Future plans are already in motion! Update 1.1 promises farming mechanics, a streamlined tutorial, apartment rentals, and the introduction of shared communities. Furthermore, Longvinter is set to launch on PlayStation in 2026, bringing this captivating experience to a wider audience.
