"MageTrain: Fast-Paced Pixel Roguelike Now on Android"
Tidepool Games has just released a thrilling new addition to the Android gaming scene with MageTrain, a fast-paced pixel art game that merges the classic elements of Snake with the dynamic nature of auto-battlers and roguelikes. If you've enjoyed Nimble Quest in the past, you're in for a treat, as MageTrain heavily draws inspiration from it.
What's MageTrain Like?
MageTrain is an exhilarating blend of genres, where you take control of a line of heroes that trail behind you, reminiscent of the iconic Snake game. As you navigate through the arena, each hero automatically engages enemies, allowing you to focus on strategic positioning. Your primary task is to manage the formation of your heroes, deciding who leads the charge and who supports from the rear, as their abilities vary based on their position in the train.
At launch, MageTrain offers nine unique heroes, including one who uniquely throws birds, each possessing distinct skills that adapt depending on their role within the team. The game features eight diverse dungeons, 28 different enemy types, and a total of 30 skills to enhance your team's capabilities. Along your journey, you'll collect gold and power-ups to bolster your heroes' strengths.
Thanks to its roguelike structure, every run in MageTrain is unique. You'll navigate branching paths, select upgrades, and strive to survive as long as possible. This format is akin to games like Slay the Spire or FTL, where levels are not fixed, and progress cannot be saved mid-run. A single misstep, whether crashing into an obstacle or being overrun by foes, means starting anew.
It Isn't Slow-Paced
The excitement of MageTrain lies in the progression you make with each attempt, even in defeat. You'll quickly learn when to adopt a defensive stance, when to unleash an aggressive attack, and when to simply hold on for another 30 seconds of gameplay.
MageTrain is now available for free on Android, so don't miss out on the action—download it from the Google Play Store today.
