Mastering Support in Marvel Rivals: A Tier List of Strategist Characters

Marvel Rivals boasts a diverse roster of iconic characters, but while damage dealers often steal the spotlight, strategic support characters are crucial for team survival. This guide ranks the seven currently available support units, focusing on their healing and buffing capabilities. While Jeff the Land Shark is a popular choice, he's not the only game-changer.

Mantis excels as a healer, boosting ally damage by consuming orbs (which regenerate automatically; headshots provide instant orb recovery). While fragile, her effectiveness is amplified by consistent headshots, making her accessible to both beginners and skilled players. Her damage output is limited, focusing primarily on support.

Luna Snow, another top-tier strategist, offers a balanced approach. Her primary attack heals allies but can also damage opponents. Her Ice Art ability enhances both healing and damage, while her Ultimate, Fate of Both Worlds, creates an AoE effect for either healing or damage, depending on positioning. Her ease of use and focus on strategic positioning make her ideal for new players, though her damage potential remains secondary to her support role.

Adam Warlock and Cloack & Dagger

Adam Warlock's standout ability is his multi-teammate revive. His Ultimate, Quantum Zone, brings back fallen allies with temporary invincibility, even allowing multiple revives of the same character. Beyond revives, his Avatar Life Stream heals allies, and Soul Bond shares damage and provides a heal-over-time effect.

Cloak & Dagger provides a unique support style. Cloak's attacks can heal or damage, offering self-sustain, while Dagger focuses on damage and applying Vulnerability debuffs. Dark Teleportation boosts ally movement speed and provides invisibility.

B Tier

Rocket Raccoon, Jeff, and Loki in Marvel Rivals.

Jeff the Land Shark, despite popularity, lacks the robust healing of higher-tier characters, struggling in extended fights. His simpler kit pales in comparison to Mantis's orb mechanics or Warlock's revives, making him a decent, but not exceptional, choice for beginners.

Loki, while a capable support, demands skill and strategic thinking. His healing and decoy summoning (requiring careful positioning to avoid environmental obstructions) are powerful but dependent on player expertise. His unique Ultimate allows shapeshifting into any hero for 15 seconds, utilizing their abilities.

Rocket Raccoon prioritizes utility and damage over pure healing. His Respawn Machine revives allies, but his kit leans towards hybrid DPS, making him a less traditional support. His effectiveness hinges on player skill and he is vulnerable due to his small size.

Ultimately, the best support character depends on individual playstyle and enjoyment. This tier list serves as a guide, but fun should always be the primary factor in character selection.

Marvel Rivals is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
