Marvel Rivals Season 1: A New York City Nightscape of Maps

Marvel Rivals' first season continues to expand its content, introducing new heroes, cosmetics, and, most notably, several new maps themed around a nocturnal New York City. This guide details each map added in Season 1.

Table of Contents

  • Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
  • Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
  • Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown Map

Launching with Season 1, Midtown is a Convoy map designed for the game's payload mode. Players either escort or defend a moving vehicle across the map. This is the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands. Midtown depicts a darkened New York City, showcasing landmarks like:

  • Baxter Building
  • Grand Central Terminal
  • Stark/Avengers Tower
  • Fisk Tower
  • Ardmore’s Bookstore
  • Timely Trend

Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum

Sanctum Santorum Map

Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum, in its "Empire of Eternal Night" variant, is a unique addition to Marvel Rivals, exclusively hosting the Doom Match mode—a free-for-all deathmatch. Top-performing players earn wins, with the best player receiving MVP.

This visually stunning map faithfully recreates Strange's mystical headquarters, first appearing in a 1963 comic and famously featured in the MCU. The Rivals version includes hidden areas, portals, an infinite staircase, and even a cameo by Bats the Ghost Dog.

Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Central Park Map

Expected to release later in Season 1, Central Park will feature a stylized Belvedere Castle, situated at one of the park's highest points. This Gothic-style castle provides a fitting backdrop for the "Empire of Eternal Night" theme, potentially serving as Dracula's New York City hideout. The map's design draws inspiration from the park's portrayal in various Marvel media, most recently in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

These are all the confirmed new maps for Marvel Rivals Season 1.
