Marvel Seeks to Reunite The Defenders

by Henry Apr 16,2025

The anticipation for the next season of *Daredevil* is palpable, and with it comes the buzz about potential future projects, including a much-anticipated *Defenders* reunion. In a detailed profile on Entertainment Weekly, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ head of streaming and TV, expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of bringing back the street-level heroes—Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders.

While no plans have been officially confirmed, Winderbaum shared with EW, "It's certainly exciting to be able to play in that sandbox… Obviously, we don't have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book, [where] if you can draw it, you can do it. We're dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television." He further elaborated, "But I can just say that all those variables taken into account, it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring."

We already know that *Daredevil: Born Again* will directly continue the story arc that began on Netflix. Netflix previously hosted its own Marvel universe, albeit on a smaller scale, featuring shows like *Jessica Jones*, *Iron Fist*, and *Luke Cage*. Given Winderbaum’s comments, *Daredevil: Born Again* could serve as a launchpad to bring these characters back into the fold, this time under Disney's banner on Disney+. Notably, the new season already features Jon Bernthal reprising his role as The Punisher, marking another successful transition from Netflix to Disney+.

For now, fans will have to wait until *Daredevil: Born Again* premieres on March 4 to see how the series unfolds and how it might pave the way for Daredevil's integration into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
