Jon Hamm, renowned for his role in Mad Men, is reportedly in negotiations with Marvel to potentially star in an MCU adaptation of a comic book storyline he champions. The actor has actively pursued MCU roles, even pitching himself for multiple parts. His previous attempt to join the Marvel universe as Mister Sinister in Fox's New Mutants ultimately fell through due to production issues, resulting in his scenes being cut.

However, a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter revealed Hamm's renewed interest, stating he'd pitched a specific comic book adaptation to Marvel executives, suggesting himself for the lead. While the exact comic remains undisclosed, fan speculation is rife, with many suggesting Hamm would be a compelling Doctor Doom in a potential Fantastic Four adaptation. Hamm himself previously expressed interest in that role.

His career has spanned diverse roles, avoiding typecasting and selecting projects that pique his interest. Recent prominent roles in Fargo and The Morning Show have cemented his current popularity, making his absence from the MCU a subject of frequent fan discussions. While he passed on the role of Green Lantern, his preference for villainous roles suggests Doctor Doom, or even a re-imagining of Mister Sinister under Disney's direction, remains a strong possibility. Whether this collaboration with Marvel will come to fruition remains to be seen, but the prospect excites fans. Image: Jon Hamm
