MindsEye: GTA-Style Game Trailer Drops, $60 with Roadmap

by Julian Oct 14,2025

Build A Rocket Boy, the studio founded by former Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies, has unveiled a new trailer for MindsEye. The team confirmed a $59.99 price point and detailed the substantial content players will experience at launch.

The ambitious title is set to release on June 10, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store.

Here's the official description:

Set in the futuristic metropolis of Redrock, MindsEye delivers a gripping linear narrative campaign. Players assume the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier grappling with fragmented memories from his experimental MindsEye neural implant. As he unravels a dangerous conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate corruption, and unchecked militarization, he discovers a threat that could doom humanity. The story comes to life through cutting-edge visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5.

One standout feature is the PC-exclusive game creation system that enables players to design experiences using official MindsEye assets.

The $59.99 pricing represents what the studio calls "a welcome alternative to the industry's growing $70-$80 AAA standard." So what does this mid-range price include?

Launch content features the core story campaign, single-player free roam, and several mission types: a horde mode called "Destruction Site Shootout," plus two combat missions ("Honor Amongst Thieves" and "Friendly Fire"). The package also includes six standard races, six checkpoint races, and three drone racing challenges. Premium pass owners gain access to an additional horde mission and exclusive cosmetic items.

The pricing discussion comes amid industry-wide increases, following Nintendo's jump to $80 for Mario Kart World and Microsoft's planned holiday price hikes. Other major publishers are expected to follow suit, with titles like Gearbox's Borderlands 4 already sparking debates after controversial statements from Randy Pitchford.

Meanwhile, some mid-tier games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 have achieved remarkable success at $50 price points. 2K's upcoming Mafia: The Old Country will adopt this strategy as well, positioning MindsEye in an interesting middle ground between premium and budget pricing.

Beyond launch, Build A Rocket Boy promises a "continuous flow" of premium monthly content to keep MindsEye evolving. This includes new missions, challenges, and creation assets. "Between our studio content and outstanding community creations, MindsEye will deliver fresh experiences for years to come," the studio stated.

The 2025 roadmap outlines summer community updates and missions, fall multiplayer expansions and new single-player modes, plus winter free roam enhancements - with premium pass holders receiving additional missions and content packs throughout.
