Crafting a Shield

Surprisingly, some players overlook this essential item. Initially absent from Minecraft, shields are now easily crafted.

You'll need:

• 6 Wooden Planks (easily made from logs)
• 1 Iron Ingot (smelted iron ore)

Arrange the planks in a "Y" shape in the crafting grid, placing the iron ingot in the top-center slot.

Finding a Shield

While crafting is an option, shields can also be looted. Ironically, you'll likely need to fight pillagers (without a shield!) to obtain one. The real prize? The banner you can use to customize it!
