Moon Knight Will Return, but Not in a Season 2, Marvel Exec Says

Marvel's Moon Knight: Future Appearances Confirmed, but No Season 2

While Moon Knight won't be returning for a second season on Disney+, Marvel Studios has confirmed Oscar Isaac's character will reappear in the MCU. This shift in strategy comes as Marvel Television restructures its approach to TV series.

In a statement to ComicBook, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum explained that the initial strategy focused on introducing characters through standalone shows before incorporating them into larger MCU projects (similar to Ms. Marvel's introduction before The Marvels). However, the current plan prioritizes shows designed for annual releases, aligning with a more traditional television model.

Winderbaum stated, "I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future…moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road.”

While Isaac voiced Moon Knight in Marvel's What If…?, his future live-action appearances remain unannounced.

The MCU's upcoming television slate includes Daredevil: Born Again (March), Ironheart (June), Eyes of Wakanda (August), Marvel Zombies (October), and Wonder Man (December). Recently, development on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. was reportedly paused, but Winderbaum indicated Marvel is exploring a potential Defenders reunion.
