A Seaside Village on the Continent

Netflix Tudum, the official news site, announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, debuting February 11, 2025. Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny, this film plunges into a seaside village grappling with a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. This leads a kingdom to enlist the services of a Witcher—a departure from the usual Basilisk and Cockatrice encounters, as Geralt faces a unique challenge against the merfolk.

Returning to voice Geralt is Doug Cockle. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. Christina Wren (Will Trent) joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven.

Andrzej Sapkowski acts as a creative consultant, with Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (writers for the live-action series) penning the script. Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs.

Set Between Episodes of Season 1

The film is set between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher's first season. Following Geralt and Yennefer's meeting in Rinde after the Djinn incident (Episode 5, "Bottled Appetites"), Geralt undertakes a new contract near the coast.

The coastal setting suggests a location near Rinde, potentially in Redania or Temeria. Considering the source material, "A Little Sacrifice," the film may take place in Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval. Whether the film strictly adheres to the short story remains to be seen.
