NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. While many weapons are unique to the game, one stands out for fans of Square Enix: the Engine Blade, a familiar weapon from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and stats during your first playthrough.

Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade is located within the factory, but not during the game's initial sequence. You'll need to return as 2B later in the game. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) offers a quick route to acquire it. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.

Exiting the access point, take the right path (2D camera angle). Pass a fenced area, climb broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially deadly presses. Jump to the next cylinder, avoiding the spider-like enemies.

Enter the door to your left, climbing stairs while dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends midway; walk towards the camera to shift to a 2D platforming section. Follow the path along the tops of the presses to the left, reaching a room with three chests. The Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest. Beware of more exploding enemies as you approach.

Engine Blade Basic Stats In NieR: Automata

  • Attack: 160-200
  • Combo: Lt 5 Hv 3

This weapon boasts four upgrade levels, eventually reaching a light combo of 7 attacks (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, its damage range is tighter, offering more predictable damage output.
