Nintendo Delays Japanese Alarmo Release Despite Global Availability

Nintendo Alarmo Japanese Release Postponed Despite Being Available Worldwide

Nintendo has announced a delay in the general retail release of its Alarmo alarm clock in Japan due to insufficient stock. The launch, originally scheduled for February 2025, is now postponed indefinitely.

Production Shortages Cause Delay

The postponement, detailed on the official Nintendo Japan website, cites current production and inventory challenges as the reason for the delay. While there's currently no word on whether this will impact international availability (a general release is planned for March 2025), Nintendo is implementing a temporary solution for Japanese consumers.

A pre-order system will be available exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan, starting mid-December 2024, with shipments expected in early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date will be announced separately.

The Popular Nintendo Alarmo

Launched globally in October 2024, the Alarmo is an interactive alarm clock featuring iconic music from popular Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with more sounds promised via future updates.

Its initial popularity exceeded expectations, leading Nintendo to halt online orders and transition to a lottery system. The Alarmo quickly sold out in physical Nintendo stores across Japan and even at the New York Nintendo store.

Further updates on pre-orders and the rescheduled general release date will be shared as they become available.
