"Nintendo Expands Switch Online with Fatal Fury 2 and More SNES Games"

by Nathan May 29,2025

Three beloved Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) classics have officially joined the ever-growing lineup of games available through the Nintendo Switch Online service. The announcement came via a recent trailer shared by Nintendo, highlighting Fatal Fury 2, Super Ninja Boy, and Sutte Hakkun as the latest additions to the collection.

Fatal Fury 2, released in 1992, expanded upon its predecessor with a fresh roster of fighters, introducing iconic characters like Kim Kaphwan and Mai Shiranui alongside fan favorites such as Terry Bogard and Big Bear. The game’s updated mechanics and larger roster made it a standout title in the fighting genre.

Meanwhile, Sutte Hakkun makes its English debut exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. This charming side-scrolling puzzle game follows the adventures of Hakkun, a tiny creature tasked with collecting rainbow shards scattered throughout vibrant levels. Its whimsical design and engaging gameplay bring a delightful twist to the classic puzzle formula.

Rounding out the trio is Super Ninja Boy, originally launched in 1991. This action-packed title combines RPG elements with fast-paced combat as players guide protagonist Jack through his quest to defeat enemies. Boasting multiplayer functionality, the game allows a second player to join in at any moment, adding an extra layer of fun for cooperative play.

These titles are now accessible to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers who have purchased the Expansion Pass, offering fans a chance to revisit—or discover for the first time—these timeless classics. As part of Nintendo’s ongoing effort to enrich their catalog, more retro gems are regularly added to the Switch Online libraries, which already feature games from the NES, Nintendo 64, Game Boy, and beyond.
