Nintendo Switch 2: 120fps, 4K Resolution in Docked Mode

After years of speculation, the long-awaited details of the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally been unveiled, and the specs are more impressive than many anticipated. The Nintendo Switch 2 supports up to 120fps and 4K resolution when docked, showcasing a significant leap in performance.

PlayDuring today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo revealed several key features of the new system. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. The screen supports a 1080p resolution at up to 120fps in handheld mode and is an LCD panel with HDR capability. When docked, it can handle up to 4K resolution with HDR.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers now use magnetic connections and can be detached with a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, enhancing the gaming experience when playing horizontally. Additionally, the left and right sticks have been enlarged for better control. The Direct also confirmed the introduction of mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games. It also features a more robust and adjustable stand than the original Switch, allowing for various viewing angles. A top USB port offers connectivity for external cameras or charging the system in tabletop mode.

Lastly, the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for games and applications.
