Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders Start April 9

Nintendo has officially confirmed that pre-orders for the Switch 2 will begin on April 9 in the United States and April 8 in the United Kingdom. The Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to launch on June 5, 2025, with a full reveal today and a price point of $449.99.

A Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle is also available for a suggested retail price of $499.99 in the U.S. This package includes the console and a digital download code for Mario Kart World, both available starting June 5, the same day the Nintendo Switch 2 officially launches. For those who wish to buy Mario Kart World separately, the standard retail price from Nintendo is set at $79.99.

You can now express your interest with Nintendo to receive notifications about Nintendo Switch 2 and accessory pre-orders via the My Nintendo Store. Purchase invitations will be emailed following a first-come, first-served approach, giving priority to users with an active 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership and at least 50 hours of gameplay recorded as of April 2, 2025.

After priority users receive their invitations, any remaining eligible registrants will be considered. These invites cannot be transferred and remain valid for 72 hours. Each account is limited to purchasing one console and one of each accessory. Major retailers are also expected to make pre-orders available beginning April 9, 2025.

“Featuring new functionality that enhances how we play, I truly believe Nintendo Switch 2 is a major step forward in our mission to bring joy and excitement to everyone Nintendo reaches.”
