Nintendo's Latest Announcement: More Than Just a Wake-Up Call

Forget the Switch 2 rumors for a moment (though we understand the excitement!). Nintendo's focus is on Alarmo's expanded retail launch in March 2025. Get ready to find it at Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other participating retailers. This wider release removes the previous requirement of a Nintendo Online membership, making it accessible to everyone. Alarmo will retail for $99.99 USD.

While many celebrate this news, the anticipation for the next Nintendo Switch remains high. Nintendo, however, remains tight-lipped about the upcoming console.

Initial Release: A Phenomenal Success

Alarmo's initial release on October 9th, 2024, was met with overwhelming demand. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended on the My Nintendo Store, shifting to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers due to the high volume of orders. A similar situation occurred in New York City, where the initial stock quickly sold out.

"We have received a large number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, which was released on October 9th, so we are currently suspending sales of the product on the My Nintendo Store. In response to this, we are currently preparing to change the sales method at My Nintendo Store to a lottery sale for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so please wait for a while. Alarmo's Features: More Than Just an Alarm

Alarmo isn't your average alarm clock. Featuring charming sound effects and visuals from beloved Nintendo franchises like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, it offers 42 selectable scenes with more to come via free updates. The alarm itself is interactive; characters playfully wake you, and the intensity increases if you snooze too long. A motion sensor allows you to silence the alarm without touching the device.

Beyond the fun wake-up calls, Alarmo boasts additional features: hourly chimes, sleep sounds themed to your selected scene, and sleep pattern tracking. For households with multiple sleepers or pets, the Button Mode is recommended. While initially requiring a Nintendo Online membership, this restriction is lifted with the expanded March 2025 release.
