The Office Star Craig Robinson Makes Shock Announcement That He's Quitting Comedy for 'Something Huge'

Say it ain’t so—or maybe it’s just a prank, because let’s be honest, it could be. The Office alum Craig Robinson, a longtime fixture in the comedy world, has announced he’s reaching a major turning point: walking away from comedy to pursue “something huge.”

“Life update: I’m officially quitting comedy to focus on my true calling,” Robinson shared in the caption of an Instagram video posted last week. “Stay tuned. I’m working on something huge.”

His selfie video offered a bit more context, though it mostly left fans guessing about what’s next. “Hey, everybody! Just wanted you to hear it from me: I am quitting comedy,” he said in the clip. “But not for nothing. It’s been an amazing run, and you’ve all been amazing and wonderful—but I’m chasing something bigger. Thanks so much, I love you, and stay tuned.”

In the comments, fans responded with a mix of shock, sadness, and serious doubt—and honestly, given Robinson’s background, it’s fair to question this. After all, this could easily be a joke… or perhaps a clever tease for something else.

Still, the actor did follow up with another post that hinted at launching a small business. “Turns out having a dream and building a business with your friends are two VERY different things,” he wrote in the caption. “I can’t go into detail just yet, but seriously—any help would be huge.”

But when it comes to what this truly means, we just don’t know yet. Color us curious.

Robinson is best known for portraying warehouse foreman Darryl Philbin across 118 episodes of The Office, but he’s also recognized for his roles in Mr. Robot, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and The Bad Guys.
