Omori Cancels Switch and PS4 Physical Release in EuropeMeridiem Games, Omori's European publisher, has announced the cancellation of the game's physical release for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in Europe. The publisher cited technical difficulties related to multilingual European localization as the reason for the cancellation.

A String of Postponements Leads to Cancellation

The physical release, initially slated for March 2023, faced multiple delays, shifting to December 2023, then March 2024, and finally to January 2025 before ultimately being cancelled. Pre-orders were affected, with Amazon notifying customers of the repeated postponements. This series of setbacks ultimately resulted in the decision to cancel the European physical release.

While Meridiem Games offered little further explanation regarding the specific localization challenges, the news has understandably disappointed many fans. The cancellation prevents the official release of the game in Spanish and other European languages on physical media. European players still have the option of importing a US physical copy, but this lacks official European language support.
