Overwatch 2 Unveils Regional Exclusives

Overwatch 2's triumphant return to China is set for February 19th, bringing with it a wealth of rewards and exciting events. Chinese players will have the opportunity to earn Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1 through 9, participate in popular in-game events, and experience the game's content that was previously unavailable.

The relaunch coincides with the commencement of Season 15, which promises skin bundles inspired by Chinese mythology. While specifics remain scarce, the anticipation is high for these new additions, potentially mirroring the Norse mythology theme of Season 14. A full reveal is expected in early February.

A recent technical test (January 8th-15th) offered a sneak peek at Overwatch: Classic and the six heroes released since the game's previous absence from China. This test paved the way for the full relaunch and the multi-week "Return to China" celebration. This celebration includes access to missed in-game events and rewards accumulated over the past two years. Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1 and 2 will be available pre-launch, with Seasons 3-9 rewards obtainable through in-game events post-launch.

Further enriching the pre-Season 15 experience, players globally can participate in the "Min 1, Max 3" 6v6 test (January 21st-February 4th), featuring the classic 2-2-2 team composition. The Lunar New Year and Moth Meta Overwatch: Classic events are also scheduled before Season 15's launch. While Chinese players missed these earlier events, they'll soon enjoy their own unique celebratory experiences.
