Path of Exile 2's Early Access release has players eager to explore the depths of their chosen classes. While not technically subclasses, Ascendancies offer specialized abilities and unique playstyles. This guide details how to unlock and utilize these powerful enhancements.

Unlocking Ascendancies

To unlock Ascendancy Classes, players must complete a Trial of Ascendancy. In Early Access, choose between the Act 2 Trial of the Sekhemas or the Act 3 Trial of Chaos. Completing either unlocks Ascendancy selection and rewards you with two passive Ascendancy Points. The earlier Act 2 trial is recommended for quicker access to enhanced abilities.

Available Ascendancies

Currently, six base classes are available, each with two Ascendancies. More classes and Ascendancies are expected in future updates.

Mercenary Ascendancies

• Witch Hunter: This Ascendancy focuses on offensive and defensive buffs, enhancing damage output with abilities like Culling Strike and No Mercy. Ideal for players who enjoy debuffing enemies and maximizing damage.

  

• Gemling Legionnaire: This option centers around Skill Gems, allowing for additional skills and buffs. Its flexibility makes it perfect for customized builds.

  

Monk Ascendancies

• Invoker: Unleash elemental powers and inflict status effects, offering a melee-focused elemental playstyle.

  

• Acolyte of Chayula: Embrace shadow powers, combining defensive and healing capabilities with reality-warping damage boosts. A unique, dark-themed alternative.

  

Ranger Ascendancies

• Deadeye: Enhance ranged combat with increased speed, damage, and accuracy, perfect for archers seeking peak performance.

  

• Pathfinder: Master explosive poison and elemental damage, offering a unique alternative to traditional bow-and-arrow builds.

  

Sorceress Ascendancies

• Stormweaver: Amplify elemental abilities, increasing damage and adding an Elemental Storm ability. A solid choice for elemental casters.

  

• Chronomancer: Manipulate time, controlling cooldowns and adding strategic depth to combat. Ideal for players who enjoy tactical gameplay.

  

Warrior Ascendancies
