"People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta"

by Joshua Apr 19,2025

People Can Fly, renowned for developing Bulletstorm and co-developing Gears of War: E-Day, has entered into a new agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment. This collaboration is for a game codenamed Project Delta, which is set to be developed as a work-for-hire project. However, specific details about Project Delta remain undisclosed.

Currently, People Can Fly is juggling multiple projects, each bearing similar codenames. Among these are Project Gemini in partnership with Square Enix, which experienced layoffs affecting 30 developers last year, and Project Echo with Krafton. Additionally, they are working on Project Red, which also appears to be linked with Sony, and Project Bison, a VR project they recently announced as their last venture into virtual reality.

In recent developments, People Can Fly had to suspend work on Project Victoria last December and scale down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier, in April, they cancelled Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was in development with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these setbacks, People Can Fly remains active with eight known projects in progress. This includes the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date for this title has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for release in 2026.
