Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Nostalgic Nintendo Console Event

Pikmin Bloom is gearing up for its exciting 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops by bringing back some nostalgic gadgets in the game. The celebration kicks off with a new event starting May 1st, 2025.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with a variety of fun decor, such as Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, Pikmin Bloom is taking a nostalgic trip back to the classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s.

Adding to the retro vibe, Niantic is introducing a Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin. This is a heartfelt nod to Nintendo's roots when they were crafting playing cards before venturing into the world of video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo’s vintage playing card decks.

The event will run from May 1st until May 31st, 2025, giving you a full month to immerse yourself in the missions and collect these cool new Pikmin. Each time you successfully complete an Event Challenge mission, you'll receive random rewards, including Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear. Smashing these mushrooms will reward you with Mystery Boxes containing items like Game Button Cells, flower petals, and more. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are particularly effective at taking down these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

In May, players can look forward to big flowers blooming into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or special anniversary roses. To achieve this, you need to plant red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.

There's also a nectar update to enhance your gameplay. Fruit obtained from mushrooms during May will provide nectar not only for regular flowers but also for the special ones like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
