Pokémon Legends: Z-A Release Date Surfaces Online

Pokémon Legends: Z-A: August 15, 2025 Release Date Leak

Rumors of a Pokémon Legends: Z-A release date surfaced online, pointing towards an August 15, 2025 launch. This potential release date aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window. The information originated from a brief listing on Amazon UK in early January 2025, quickly removed and replaced with a placeholder date.

Initially unveiled during the February 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the anticipated sequel to the exploration-focused Pokémon Legends: Arceus (2022). Unlike previous entries, Arceus prioritized open-ended exploration and Pokémon collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League. Since its announcement, official details on Z-A have been scarce.

February 2025 Confirmation Possible

The leaked date's accuracy remains unconfirmed, but an official announcement is likely imminent. Similar to its initial reveal during Pokémon Day 2024, the release date might be unveiled during the 2025 Pokémon Day event on February 27th (the anniversary of the original Japanese Pokémon Red and Green release). This date is supported by recent findings from a Pokémon GO dataminer.

Beyond the release date, fans eagerly await a gameplay reveal, also potentially scheduled for the February 2025 Pokémon Presents broadcast.

Switch and Switch 2 Compatibility

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is confirmed for Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo's announcement of backward compatibility for the upcoming Switch 2 ensures its availability on the newer console as well. While past mainline Pokémon games have included paid DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received one free post-launch update ("Daybreak").
