Pokémon Scarlet and Violet rank among the top-selling titles in the Pokémon franchise.

According to Joe Merrick, webmaster of Serebii.net, as reported by Eurogamer, the combined sales of these two games exceed 25 million copies, outpacing all other Pokémon titles except Pokémon Red/Green/Blue, which sold 31.4 million copies upon its 1996 Game Boy debut.

With 26,790,000 units sold, Scarlet and Violet narrowly surpass Sword and Shield’s 26,720,000, securing second place.

Gold/Silver and Diamond/Pearl complete the top five, with sales of 23.7 million and 16.7 million units, respectively.

Scarlet and Violet faced mixed reviews at launch, earning some of the lowest scores among mainline Pokémon games due to technical glitches, performance issues, and bugs.

In IGN's Pokémon Scarlet and Violet review, we gave the games a 6/10, noting: "The open-world approach of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet marks an exciting evolution for the series, but its potential is undermined by numerous unfinished elements."

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is slated for release later this year, set in Lumiose City, where an urban renewal project aims to create a shared space for people and Pokémon. Last October, a leak revealed undisclosed details about several Pokémon games, including Legends Z-A, prompting Nintendo to issue a subpoena to Discord to identify the source of the "TeraLeak."
