Pokemon GO Adding Galar Pokemon in Upcoming Event

The Steely Resolve event in Pokémon GO, commencing January 21st, marks the highly anticipated arrival of Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight. This addition expands the Galar region Pokémon roster within the game.

The Dual Destiny Season, launched in December 2024, subtly hinted at their inclusion via a loading screen featuring Rookidee and Corviknight. This fueled player speculation until the official announcement.

The Steely Resolve event, running from 10 am on January 21st to 8 pm on January 26th (local time), provides multiple opportunities to encounter this evolutionary line. The event includes a new Dual Destiny Special Research, enhanced Field Research tasks, and increased spawn rates for ten Pokémon, including Clefairy, Paldean Wooper, and Carbink. Magnetic Lure Modules will attract specific Pokémon like Onix, Beldum, and Rookidee. Shadow Pokémon can also utilize Charged TMs to unlearn Frustration. A $5 paid Timed Research will also be available.

• Bonuses: 4x Stardust from win rewards (excluding end-of-set rewards), increased daily battle sets (20 instead of 5), free battle-themed Timed Research with Grimsley-inspired avatar shoes, and varied IVs for Pokémon encountered via GO Battle League rewards.
• Leagues: Master League, Color Cup (Great League Edition), Great League, Ultra League, and Master League will be active throughout the week. All will offer 4x Stardust from win rewards (excluding end-of-set rewards).

The Steely Resolve event is packed with activities, including Mega Raids, one-star and five-star raids, and the chance to hatch Rookidee from 2km eggs. In addition to the Corviknight line debut, January also features Shadow Raids (including Shadow Ho-Oh's return), Dynamax raids with Kanto Legendary Birds, and the return of the Pokémon GO Community Day Classic. This makes for a busy and exciting start to the year for Pokémon GO players.
