Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Launch Year of the Snake Event
Summary
- Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are hosting a Mass Outbreak with increased Shiny encounter odds until January 12.
- Trainers can expect Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper to appear in greater numbers during the event.
- The future of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in 2025 remains uncertain with the upcoming Year of the Snake.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers have an exciting event to dive into as the Snakelike Mass Outbreak kicks off in celebration of the Year of the Snake. This thrilling event, lasting just one weekend, offers players an increased chance to encounter Shiny versions of Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper.
This latest Mass Outbreak event follows closely on the heels of the Shiny Rayquaza Tera raid event, which concluded 2024 on a high note. While Rayquaza, the Sky High Pokemon, is typically available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after purchasing the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC and progressing through The Indigo Disk, the Shiny variant's rarity made the Tera raid a golden opportunity for players. Despite Rayquaza's vulnerability to Fairy Pokemon making the raid relatively straightforward, the Shiny Rayquaza event was a fitting end to the Year of the Dragon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
As we usher in 2025 and the Year of the Snake, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have a fresh event to engage with. According to Serebii.net, the Snakelike Pokemon Mass Outbreak event commenced on Thursday, January 9, at 7:00 PM Eastern and will wrap up on Sunday, January 12, at 6:59 PM Eastern. During this period, three specific Pokemon will be available for players to catch in large numbers. Silicobra will dominate outbreaks across all land areas in the Paldea region, while Ekans will be abundant in the Kitakami region, and Seviper will be found in the Terarium. The levels of these Pokemon will vary from 10 to 65, based on the player's progress in the main story. To participate, trainers must connect to the Internet, navigate to the Poke Portal from the in-game menu, and select "Get Poke Portal News" to activate the Mass Outbreaks.
