From Select Button to Pokémon Works
Following the March 2024 establishment of Pokémon Works, the transition of Pokémon Sleep's development and operation from Select Button Co., Ltd. to Pokémon Works has been announced via the Japanese in-app notification. The global app's news section hasn't yet reflected this change. The announcement stated that development and operation were previously shared between Select Button and The Pokémon Company.
Pokémon Works: A New Chapter for Pokémon Sleep
Pokémon Works, a collaborative venture between The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd., is based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, sharing proximity with ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Their representative director, Takuya Iwasaki, highlighted past contributions to Pokémon HOME and expressed a vision of making Pokémon experiences more tangible and enjoyable. The specifics of how this vision will shape Pokémon Sleep's future remain to be seen. While details are scarce, the transition suggests a potential shift in the game's direction and future updates.
