As 2024 concludes, Niantic is celebrating the arrival of 2025 in Pokémon Go with a special New Year's event. This precedes the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day.

Kicking off the new year, the Eggs-pedition Access is available throughout January as part of the Dual Destiny season. For $4.99, this in-app purchase unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching experience until January 31st. This includes a significant upgrade to the Gift system, allowing for storage of up to 40 Gifts, opening of up to 50 daily, and collection of 150 from Photo Discs. Check out the event details below!

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes this year, there's still plenty of festive fun to be had.

Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with a boosted Shiny rate. Event bonuses include a generous 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws, and celebratory fireworks will add to the atmosphere.

Raids will feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), both with increased Shiny odds. Themed Pokémon encounters will also be available through Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
