Pokémon TCG Pocket finally tackles trading in new update, but it\'s not coming until autumn

by Madison Mar 15,2025

Pokémon TCG Pocket has announced significant changes to its trading system, addressing player concerns about accessibility. Trade Tokens are being completely removed, replaced by a new currency called Shinedust. Shinedust is earned by opening booster packs and receiving duplicate cards already registered in your Card Dex. Players can convert existing Trade Tokens into Shinedust.

While the initial trading system faced criticism due to the scarcity of Trade Tokens and restrictive trading options, this update aims to simplify the process. The reliance on Shinedust removes the need to exchange cards for currency. However, further adjustments to Shinedust are planned, including its integration with the flair system. A future update will also introduce an in-game feature to share cards you wish to trade.

These changes, expected by autumn, indicate that Pokémon TCG Pocket is actively addressing player feedback, though the timeframe may disappoint some players.
