The beloved '90s series, The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, captivated a generation with its thrilling adventures of teenage superheroes and their impressive mechs, which could combine to form a colossal fighting machine. The nostalgia and excitement surrounding this franchise continue to resonate with fans old and new.

In 2018, Hasbro acquired the Power Rangers franchise from Saban Properties in a deal valued at $522 million. Brian Goldner, then Hasbro’s chairman and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the brand's potential, stating, "We see significant opportunity for Power Rangers across our entire Brand Blueprint, including toys and games, consumer products, digital gaming and entertainment, as well as geographically throughout our global retail footprint."

This acquisition followed the unsuccessful 2017 movie reboot, which attempted a darker, more serious take on the Power Rangers. Despite intentions to launch a series of sequels, the film's lackluster box office performance led to the abandonment of those plans, paving the way for Hasbro to take over the franchise.

Hasbro's ambitious plans extend beyond Power Rangers. The company is also working on a live-action Dungeons & Dragons series titled The Forgotten Realms, set for Netflix, an animated Magic: The Gathering series, also in development at Netflix, and a cinematic universe for Magic: The Gathering. These projects highlight Hasbro's commitment to expanding its iconic brands across various media platforms.
