Following the abrupt cancellation of Project KV on September 8th, a group of dedicated fans formed Studio Vikundi and launched Project VK. Their Twitter (X) announcement acknowledged Project KV's influence while emphasizing their commitment to independent development.

Studio Vikundi stated: "While inspired by that project, our team remains dedicated to its development, unaffected by recent events. We aim to exceed your expectations."

Further clarifying, the studio added: "Project VK is a non-profit indie game, entirely separate from Blue Archive and Project KV. Born from disappointment with Project KV's unprofessional conduct, we are committed to ethical practices and original content. We respect all existing copyrights."

Project KV's cancellation stemmed from widespread accusations of plagiarism, targeting its striking similarities to Blue Archive, a game some of its developers previously worked on at Nexon Games. Allegations included copied aesthetics, music, and the core concept: a city inhabited by weapon-wielding female students.
