Project Mugen now has an official name and teaser trailer as NetEase shows off Ananta
Ananta: NetEase's Open-World RPG Unveiled
NetEase Games and Naked Rain have finally revealed the official title for their enigmatic Project Mugen: Ananta. A new PV and teaser trailer showcase the urban, open-world RPG, offering a clearer picture of what awaits players.
The preview video highlights Nova City, a sprawling metropolis ripe for exploration. A diverse cast of characters battles the encroaching forces of Chaos, a familiar threat in the genre.
While comparisons to MiHoYo's titles, particularly Zenless Zone Zero, are inevitable, Ananta distinguishes itself through unique movement mechanics. The gameplay blends charming characters with visually striking combat, a formula popular in current 3D RPGs.
Impressive Movement and Exploration
The PV showcases impressive movement capabilities. Whether this translates to seamless traversal across Nova City's streets and rooftops remains to be seen, but the potential for Spider-Man-esque agility is exciting.
Ananta undoubtedly shares similarities with MiHoYo's Hoyoverse titles like Genshin Impact. However, NetEase aims to carve its own niche in the crowded 3D gacha RPG market. The ultimate question is whether Ananta can stand out and potentially challenge the reigning champions.
