PUBG Mobile comes to the cloud with, well, PUBG Mobile Cloud
PUBG Mobile Goes Cloud-Based: A Soft Launch in the US and Malaysia
Krafton is shaking things up with the release of PUBG Mobile Cloud, a cloud-based version of the popular battle royale game. Currently in soft launch for US and Malaysian players, this standalone Google Play download promises a lag-free experience, free from hardware limitations and overheating concerns. This approach leverages the power of remote servers, eliminating the need for local downloads or resource-intensive programs. Essentially, the heavy lifting is handled elsewhere, allowing for high-fidelity gameplay on a wider range of devices.
Expanding Accessibility
Unlike many cloud gaming services integrated into subscription models, PUBG Mobile Cloud stands alone. This strategy aims to broaden the player base, particularly appealing to those whose devices struggle to run the standard PUBG Mobile game. While the listed system requirements are still relatively broad, the primary target audience likely consists of players with less powerful mobile devices.
The long-term success of PUBG Mobile Cloud remains to be seen. While a clear niche market exists, its precise impact and adoption rate are yet to be determined.
