How to Obtain the Rail Gun in Fortnite
Quick Links
The Rail Gun, a formidable weapon from the early days of Chapter 2 Season 7 in Fortnite Battle Royale, makes a comeback in Chapter 6 Season 1. Although it has undergone some damage nerfs, it remains a powerful asset that can enhance your loadout and help you secure victory over other players on the map.
Fortunately, obtaining the Rail Gun isn't overly challenging, but understanding the specifics of how to acquire it and reviewing the stats of its different variants can be crucial for deciding whether it's worth adding to your arsenal.
How to Get the Rail Gun in Fortnite
The Rail Gun comes in Epic and Legendary rarities, making it somewhat elusive since no NPCs sell it. To find one, players must rely on Chests and Floor Loot. With an abundance of loot sources in Chapter 6 Season 1, such as the loot caves of Magic Mosses and the hidden vaults in Nightshift Forest, your chances of finding a Rail Gun are quite good. Simply loot as many chests as you can, and with a bit of luck, you'll soon have a Rail Gun to aid in your quest for a Victory Royale.

- A high-tech rifle, the Rail Gun requires a 3-second charge to aim and fire a single, powerful shot, making it ideal for dealing with enemies behind walls.
Once you hold the Fire button, it takes around 3 seconds for the Rail Gun to charge its shot. You can delay firing for an additional 3 seconds before it automatically discharges. However, landing a shot with the Rail Gun can be challenging because there's no way to cancel a charging shot, and enemies tend to move unpredictably, making it difficult to aim accurately with the bright light of the Rail Gun targeting them.
Despite its impressive structure and headshot damage, the Rail Gun's slow firing rate and difficulty in hitting moving targets might make Heavy Bullets a more reliable choice for weapons like the Hunting Rifle. Nevertheless, the Rail Gun remains a fun and unique weapon to experiment with, offering a distinct gameplay experience.
