The new Resident Evil 6 remaster might be coming soon

The ESRB has updated the rating for Resident Evil 6, maintaining its Mature 17+ rating but adding the Xbox Series X|S as a new platform. This suggests an upcoming release for current-gen consoles.

Initially released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and remastered in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, this new version is likely destined for both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, though PlayStation 5 confirmation is pending.

Interestingly, the game's genre description has shifted. Previous listings categorized it as a "third-person shooter," while the new ESRB entry labels it "survival horror." This subtle change hints at potential differences from the previous remaster, although specifics remain unclear until an official announcement.

Beyond this potential remaster, anticipation builds for Resident Evil 9, rumored to be set four years after the events of Resident Evil Village.
