Where to Find Sam in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)

If you're striving for the ultimate conclusion in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, completing specific tasks is essential, with saving Sam being a crucial step. To achieve perfection, understanding Sam's location is key.

Rescuing Sam During "Reckoning"

As you near the climax of the main quest line, you'll discover that Sam is imprisoned at Praguer's Camp, captured by Brabant. Your opportunity to rescue him arises during the "Reckoning" quest. However, simply storming the camp isn't an option; you'll need to either employ stealth or opt for a more aggressive approach.

To move freely within the camp, you'll require a guard's outfit. You can obtain this by either killing a guard and hiding their body or by looting one of the numerous chests scattered around. Once you have the outfit, put it on to explore the camp without arousing suspicion.

Sam is located in a barn on the left side of the camp, beyond the open area with a cooking fire. Access the barn using the side ladder and drop down to confront Brabant. Here, you face a critical decision: you can either kill or spare Brabant. Choosing to spare him contributes to achieving the best ending, though the final choice is yours.

When to Rescue Sam

After freeing Sam, it's not yet time to escape with him. He'll inform you about von Aulitz, who is also in the camp. It's advisable to deal with von Aulitz first, then find a horse, and finally return to Sam to facilitate his escape. Sam can wait safely while you complete these tasks.

Von Aulitz is found in the central part of the camp. Wearing the guard's outfit allows you to enter his quarters unchallenged. Upon finding him, von Aulitz, who is already dying, requests a dignified death. You can honor this request, kill him brutally, or leave him to suffer. While these choices have minor impacts, leaving him to die aligns with the path to the best ending.

Your final tasks are to retrieve Sam and secure a horse. Return to the barn where Sam awaits. If a guard questions your actions, simply explain that you're moving a body to avoid suspicion. Exit the camp through the gates, turn right, and follow the perimeter until you reach the stables.
