Scammers are distributing fake invitations to test Elden Ring Nightreign

by Amelia Mar 06,2025

Bandai Namco is sending out emails inviting players to a closed beta test for Elden Ring: Nightreign, scheduled for February 14-17, 2025. Selected participants will be among the first to experience the game's three-person cooperative mode.

However, beware of scams! Fraudsters are exploiting Nightreign's popularity by distributing fake beta invitations mimicking official Bandai Namco communications. These deceptive emails contain links to fraudulent websites designed to resemble Steam, aiming to steal player accounts. Some players report receiving these phishing attempts from compromised friends' accounts. While some victims have successfully recovered their accounts through Steam support, caution is paramount.

Always verify the authenticity of any email or link before clicking. When in doubt, consult official Bandai Namco channels. Never follow suspicious links.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging system. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute session length doesn't allow sufficient time for players to send or read messages effectively. Therefore, the feature has been disabled for this specific game mode.
