"Shining Revelry Expansion Announced for Pokemon TCG Pocket"

by Nathan Apr 11,2025

My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket ebbs and flows, but nothing gets me more excited than a new set release. I dive deep into the game when a fresh expansion hits and keep the momentum going as long as there are Emblems to earn for achieving around 40 wins. Once that goal's out of reach, my routine shifts to logging in daily, opening my packs, enjoying a Wonder Pick just for fun, and then moving on until the next day. This cycle is set to repeat with the arrival of the latest expansion, Shining Revelry, on March 27th.

Shining Revelry will add 110 new cards to TCG Pocket, featuring a diverse array of new Ex Pokemon, Trainers, and the stunning art cards we've all grown to adore. The highlight of this expansion, as hinted by its name, is the introduction of Shiny Pokemon. For those new to the concept, Shiny Pokemon are unique color variants of the familiar creatures. Think of Lucario with a yellow hue instead of its usual blue, or Pachirisu sporting a striking pink stripe.

The trailer for Shining Revelry offers a sneak peek at what's in store, and it's worth a watch. One of the standout cards is the new Shiny Charizard Ex, boasting 180 HP and a powerful attack called Steam Artillery that inflicts 150 damage. The catch is it requires five energy, which is a lot. However, its other move, Stoke, lets you attach three Fire Energy at once, making it more manageable.

Another exciting addition is Lucario Ex. Previously seen in a supporting role in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this new version is primed for frontline combat. With 150 HP and the attack Aura Sphere, which deals 100 damage for three Fighting Energy and also hits an opponent's Benched Pokemon for 30, it's a card to watch.

The trailer also teases other cards that might not shake the meta but are visually stunning nonetheless. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on the way, and they look fantastic. Additionally, there's a gorgeous Tatsugiri art rare that I'm determined to add to my digital collection.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is available for free on the App Store and Google Play, with optional in-app purchases. If you're interested, you can easily download it for your preferred platform using the links provided below.
