Ship Solution: Divinity II Revelation Unlocks Sailing

by Lillian Feb 13,2025

This guide details how to get the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance, sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.

Quick Links

After removing your Source collar, your goal is to get the Lady Vengeance underway. This isn't done through conventional means; you must discover the ship's unique control mechanism. Explore the ship, talk to NPCs, and gather clues. The key is accessing Magister Dallis' cabin and the Ancient Empire Songbook within.

Investigate Dead Bodies

Start by searching the bodies of the deceased magisters and ghouls on deck. A Sodden Diary on one corpse contains a password for a stateroom door. You can also obtain this password via a skill check at the northern stateroom door. Additionally, you'll need a Strange Gem to interact with the Portside Stateroom door. A magic mirror (south of the stateroom doors) allows respeccing characters, useful for skill checks.

Find the Portside Stateroom Door

Using the password from the diary (or skill check), access the ship's quarters. Interact with the unconscious Bishop Alexander to find a Strange Gem in his regalia. Use this gem with the southern stateroom door, then input the password ("Fortitude") to unlock it. This leads to Magister Dallis' cabin. The cabin also contains a hidden hatch with ghouls and a Teleportation Prism.

Find the Songbook

In Dallis' cabin, speak to Tarquin and Dallis extensively before searching. The Ancient Empire Songbook rests on a pedestal. Reading it reveals the cryptic song. It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before moving the ship, as this opportunity is lost once underway.

Set Sail

Return to the deck and tell Malady you found the songbook. She'll ask you to sing to the ship. Find the dragon figurine on the west side of the deck. Interact with it and choose to sing the song. The Lady Vengeance will begin moving. Be prepared for an immediate ambush by powerful magisters after the ship starts moving. Ensure your party is adequately prepared for a challenging battle.
