The Simpsons: Tapped Out Is About To Tap Out As EA Is Shutting It Down

EA's long-running mobile game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, is officially being discontinued. After a twelve-year run, the game, initially released in 2012 on the App Store and 2013 on Google Play, will be saying goodbye.

The Shutdown Timeline:

In-app purchases are already unavailable. The game will be removed from app stores on October 31st, 2024. However, existing players can continue playing until January 24th, 2025, when the servers will shut down permanently. EA expressed gratitude to its players for their decade-long support of the game and its partnership with The Simpsons and The Walt Disney Company.

One Last Chance to Experience Springfield?

If you've never played The Simpsons: Tapped Out, now's your last chance. This city-building game lets you rebuild Springfield after Homer's disastrous nuclear mishap. You'll manage the town's reconstruction, interacting with beloved characters like Marge, Lisa, Bart, and even Fat Tony. Customize Springfield to your liking, expand to Springfield Heights, and even run Apu's Kwik-E-Mart.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out is a freemium game, regularly updated with content tied to the show and real-world events. While the game is free, in-game donuts are the primary currency for progression.

Download the game from the Google Play Store before it's gone. Also, check out our article on eBaseball: MLB Pro Spirit, a new mobile game launching this fall!
